By Groceree
Also known as Portuguese Bean Stew
The northern Portuguese version: red kidney or white beans rather than black, cooked with cured pork, chouriço and cabbage. Heartier and plainer than the Brazilian one.

Notes
- Not the Brazilian dish. Portuguese feijoada uses red or white beans and has none of the orange, farofa and greens that make feijoada completa.
- Parboil the meats separately first. It draws off excess salt and scum, and the broth goes back in.
- Add salt only at the end, after tasting. Cured pork can make this far too salty very quickly.
