How to check off, edit and delete items
Last updated
Tap an item to check it off, swipe right to edit it, and swipe left to delete it. Checked items move down into Recently completed, and everyone else on the list sees them go as it happens.
Steps
- 01
Check items off as you shop
Tap an item once to mark it bought. It moves to the Recently completed section at the bottom of the list, and the other people on the list see it disappear immediately.
- 02
Swipe to edit or delete
Swipe an item to the right to edit it — change the name, the quantity or the photo. Swipe left to delete it outright.
- 03
Change the check-off gesture
If tapping is too easy to trigger by accident, open Settings and change Check off action to Double tap or Swipe instead.
Worth knowing
- Checked items are not deleted — they stay under Recently completed, so a mis-tap is easy to undo.
- Your name is shown next to items you add or check off, so a household can see who picked up what.
- The app icon badge can show the number of items left. Choose which list it counts under Settings, in Badge count.

- Sort by store aisleItems are grouped into categories automatically as you add them. To make the list match your shop, open Settings and use Category Organization to drag the categories into the order you actually walk them.
- Add items quicklyType in the Add item field and Groceree suggests matching products from a built-in catalogue as you go. Pick a suggestion and the item lands on the list already named and categorised, so a full weekly shop takes a couple of minutes.
